Dr. Marta Dijkhoff – Language. Identity. Leadership
Language is not a barrier—it is a bridge. A bridge to identity. A bridge to dignity. A bridge to freedom.
Welcome to the official website of Dr. Marta Dijkhoff—linguist, educator, policy-maker, and lifelong advocate for the power of language in shaping lives.
This platform was created to share and expand the work of a woman who has dedicated her life to a simple but transformative truth: every child has the right to learn in a language they understand, and every community has the right to preserve its linguistic heritage.

Dr. Dijkhoff served as Curaçao’s first Minister of Education, later as General Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and most recently as Acting Director of the National Language Institute of Curaçao. Throughout these roles, she has championed multilingual education, cultural inclusion, and justice through language policy.
Here you will find:
- Her publications, research, and policy contributions
- A growing network of educators and institutions across Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, and the Netherlands
- Podcasts, video lectures, and conversations on language, leadership, and identity
